Satispay (for POS)

Information on the Satispay payment method for POS.

Introduction

Please note: this payment method is coming soon - it is currently in the pilot phase, in Luxembourg only

Satispay makes transferring money as effortless as sending a message. Send money to your phone contacts and pay in stores in a matter of seconds.

Viva’s POS integration with Satispay allows you to generate a Satispay QR code natively within your POS device. You can then present this QR code for your customers to scan with their mobile device, where they can complete the payment easily and securely.

Some of the main benefits of offering Satispay (for POS) as a payment method are:

1. On the POS terminal, the merchant selects (1) the ‘more’ option > (2) the Satispay payment method.

2. The Satispay QR code is then displayed:

3. The customer then scans the QR code with their mobile device to be taken to the Satispay environment to complete their payment

4. Once the customer has completed the payment on their device, a confirmation message is shown on the POS terminal:

How to activate Satispay (for POS)

Merchants do not need to have an account with Satispay

Merchants can only activate Satispay (for POS) on their own from their Viva account interface. To activate Satispay (for POS), please follow the procedure below:

1. Sign in to your production Viva account
2. Click on Settings > API Access and scroll down to the Satispay (Payment Method) section
3. Click on the Enable Satispay as a payment method button
4. If Satispay (for POS) is enabled successfully, a success message with a green background will be shown at the top-right of the page

Merchant Categories

There are some merchant categories that are not eligible to have Satispay (for POS) activated. If your business is in one of these categories, you will not be able to accept payments through Satispay (for POS):

5969 Ticket Agencies (Radio, television and other direct Marketers not elsewhere classified)
6010 Financial institutions - manual cash disbursements
6011 Financial institutions - automated cash disbursements
6012 Loan Payments, Institution
6051 Non-financial institutions - foreign currency, money orders (not wire transfer), scrip and travellers' checks
6211 Dealers - Securities, Mutual Funds, Stocks, Commodities, Bonds
7012 Timeshares
7273 Dating and escort services
7278 Buying and shopping services and clubs
7321 Consumer credit reporting agencies
7322 Debt collection agencies
7361 Employment agencies and temporary help services
7995 Betting (including Lottery Tickets, Casino Gaming Chips, Off-Track Betting and Wagers)
