Introduction
Satispay is a mobile payment platform, offering users a convenient and secure way to make transactions using their smartphones.
Some of the main benefits of offering Satispay as a payment method are:
- Ease of use: Simple and fast checkout for EUR currency customers
- Security: Every payment is authorised securely within the Satispay environment
- Get started quickly: There is no need for the merchant to have an account with Satispay

Details
Merchants do not need to have an account with Satispay.
- How to activate: Please refer to the How to activate section below. Please note: Activation of this payment method is instant. Once activated, merchants will immediately be able to accept payments via Satispay
- Payment method type: Synchronous - payments are confirmed immediately
- Refunds: Supports partial and full refunds
- Recurring payments: Not supported
- Pre-authorizations: Not supported
- Restricted MCC: Some Merchant Categories are not eligible to have Satispay activated
- Μerchant countries: Available for merchants registered in Italy, France and Luxembourg
- Customer countries: Available to customers in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain
- Pricing: Please refer to our pricing page under the main navigation for more information.
- Settlement: Customer payments are deposited next day into your business account for confirmed payments / successful transactions (i.e. have statusId = F)
- Cross-currency payments: Not yet supported
- Additional notes: Satispay is not available through Quick Pay
How to activate Satispay
Merchants do not need to have an account with Satispay.

Merchants can only activate Satispay on their own from their Viva account interface. To activate Satispay, please follow the procedure below:
Sign in to your production Viva account .
Click on Settings > API Access and scroll down to the Satispay (Payment Method) section.
Click on the Enable Satispay as a payment method button:
Satispay will be activated.
If you would like to deactivate Satispay, click on the Disable Satispay as a payment method button:
Merchant Categories
There are some merchant categories that are not eligible to have Satispay activated. If your business is in one of these categories, you will not be able to accept payments through Satispay:

| 6011 | Financial institutions — automated cash disbursements |
| 6012 | Financial institutions — merchandise and services |
| 6051 | Non-financial institutions — foreign currency, money orders (not wire transfer), scrip and travellers’ checks |
| 6211 | Securities — brokers and dealers |
| 7012 | Timeshares |
| 7273 | Dating and escort services |
| 7278 | Buying and shopping services and clubs |
| 7321 | Consumer credit reporting agencies |
| 7322 | Debt collection agencies |
| 7361 | Employement agencies and temporary help services |
| 7995 | Betting, including Lottery Tickets, Casino Gaming Chips, Off-Track Betting, and Wagers at Race Tracks |
Smart Checkout supports Satispay straight out of the box with no configuration required.
Payment method messaging
It is important that the customer is aware of the payment methods you offer via Smart Checkout, as this will increase conversion and average order values. Please see our payment method messaging guide for more details on why and where we would recommend adding this information to your site.
